Welcome to Kneading Hands, my name is Stephanie and I have taken a long scenic route on my therapeutic massage journey.

Hailing from a Southeast Asian Chinese background, massage has always been an intrinsic part of my life. The multi cultural background of my birth country Singapore, means Tui Na appointments (Traditional Chinese Medicine therapeutic massage) whenever there was a sprain or "bodily disharmony", Aromatherapy massages at various spas on the island, Indian Ayurvedic seated head massages in the office or Urut Melayu (traditional Malay massages) to help with postpartum recovery after the birth of my child... these complementary therapies are our natural go-to for healing ailments.

In my "previous life" I had a corporate job that had me sitting at my desk all day, 5 days (or more) a week. Towards the end, I was seeing massage therapists on an almost weekly basis for chronic pain and discomfort - even after minding sitting posture and using ergonomic products. If anyone knows the benefits of massage, it's me!

However, I have not always been on the receiving end of a massage. I also enjoy practising massage therapy on friends and family. After years of thinking and talking about it, I got myself qualified as a relaxation and remedial massage therapist and started a therapeutic massage service. This decision has been life changing. When I help my clients feel better, I am doing something very meaningful and that makes me exceptionally happy.

Kneading Hands used to be a home based or mobile service. I decided to start a clinic at the clinical suites in Mount Eliza Village so that it would allow me to ensure that my clients come to a safe, hygienic space, be able to fully relax and enjoy the full benefits of my treatments.

Massage is part of many eastern and western cultures that dates back more than 5000 years for many very good reasons. Let me help you discover the health benefits of massage therapy. I look forward to welcoming you at Kneading Hands.

RELAXATION MASSAGE

Remedial massage therapy is a clinical approach that aims to locate the original cause of disorders, and aid soft tissue repair or dysfunction.

The treatment includes initial consultation about your health and lifestyle, and an assessment - postural analysis, range of movement testing and orthopaedic testing if required - followed by the actual treatment that will focus on the dysfunction.

A number of different techniques might be used to aid the repair of damaged areas of the body. The pressure applied in this healing treatment can either be strong and deep or gentle and shallow, depending on the problem, to speed up the body's own healing process of the disorder as well as the symptoms.
